The HIFU (High Intensity Focalised Ultrasounds) 
This relatively recent treatment is intended to effectively combat the slackening of the skin of the face and neck. It uses high intensity focused ultrasound or HIFU.

It is a very safe medical technique, the subject of numerous scientific publications, approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the USA and whose effectiveness is recognized all over the world.

The process used in HIFU is comparable to that of a magnifying glass that concentrates the sun's rays at a specific point. In the same way, the focused ultrasound emitted by the hand piece will also create micro-coagulation points with constant control of the desired depth under the skin at the level of the SMAS (subcutaneous musculo-aponeurotic system) and the deep dermis.

This technique gives no volume to the face, it only creates tension of the skin.

It is the ideal treatment for the patient with moderate skin sagging of the face, neck and décolleté, as well as jowls and a certain laxity of the upper and / or lower eyelids.
HIFUs use ultrasonic energy whose impacts will affect each layer of the skin. The new machine we have is far more powerful and painless than previous releases and allows us to work at different depths:
• 4.5 mm (muscles or fat depending on the area),
• 3 mm (deep dermis)
• 1.5 mm (epidermis).
• 13 mm
Thus, the fibroblasts of the skin will produce more collagen which will not only restore firmness but also elastin fibers thereby enabling a better skin tonicity.

​What are the best medical indications ?

We recommend this technique in the following cases :
• Skin loosening of the face, especially the oval
• Reduce a double chin
• Skin loosening of jowls, neck and décolleté
• Falling eyelids, sagging eyebrows
• Tightening of the skin
• Reduction of wrinkles
• Skin rejuvenation (clarification)
• Reduced eye bags
• Post-treatment liposuction
• Large volume of the belly, thighs, arms, cellulites

Advantages 

  • Only one session is required to achieve a lasting result for 2 to 3 years. In case of large sagging skin, it is possible to do a second session 6 weeks after the first session.

  • Can be applied to women, men and all skin types at any period of the year. Solar exposure is possible either before or after the treatment. There are no noticeable side effects except for slight bruising just after the procedure (which may last a few hours), a sign that the treatment has been efficient.​​

  • Jowls are also strongly reduced and cheekbones are enhanced. ​

  • Superficial wrinkles are also successfully smoothed thanks to the focused ultrasound emitted in the superficial dermis.

  • No bruising or marking is to be feared at the end of the session. The skin is just a little pink but obviously more relaxed and firmer.

The Results


The results, already visible at the end of the session, improve with time because the fat cells are definitively destroyed after several weeks and the stimulated fibroblasts only react after the session. The lifting effect therefore increases week after week.
 

Nevertheless, it will be necessary to wait from 3 to 6 months (until the neo-collagenesis is fully effective) to see the final result of the medical facelift.

To achieve a more satisfactory result, 2 sessions are necessary. It is more difficult to obtain results if the skin is very slackened with a very marked ptosis of the tissues.

What to expect during the session

​

This session is painless, You can feel slight tingling as well as a certain tension of the skin that appears gradually with the shots, a sign that the procedure is effective.

The session lasts between 45 minutes and 60 minutes. When it comes to working on the oval of a face, a little less if it is only to raise the eyebrows.

The operator will therefore perform a first series of shots at the depth of 4.5 mm at the various previously delineated zones that will target the collagen contained in the SMAS (superficial musculo-fascial system), taking care to avoid "Prohibited areas" that will be defined in advance.

Thereafter, a second "passage" with a second superficial transducer (3mm) will be performed. In certain areas such as the contour of the eye or on the cheekbones, there may be a slight amount of pain during the procedure.

Some redness may be visible, but it will disappear a few hours after the treatment.

After HIFU therapy, it is generally possible to see 10 to 20% of the final effect that will be obtained afterwards.

  • Active skin infection (herpès, inflammatory dermatosis, local bacterial infection)
